I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but unfortunately our Valentines date was completely ruined!! 🚫Booked a table for a Valentines meal at 9:15, excited and incredibly hungry as it was already late! On arrival we were told they were running behind and so we would need to get a drink at the bar first, which was initially understandable as it was a busy night. Unfortunately, this ended up being about an hour wait, not being seated until 22:10! Throughout our wait, we hadn’t been updated or tended to at all and so the whole service felt cold and uncaring.Naturally, we were now starving but decided to stick it out because we didn’t have any other options. We had assumed that because it was now over an hour after our reservation, they would tend to us quickly. Unfortunately, we were wrong and didn’t receive any communication or service for the next 25 minutes. Realising that there was no way we were going to be eating, or even talking to a member of staff any time soon, we bailed home and ordered a Chinese 🤣To be busy on Valentines is completely understandable, but to have no service for an hour and a half after arriving on time and offered nothing as courtesy, never mind any empathy from the staff, is unacceptable and poor management. We trusted the Botanist for a lovely evening and unfortunately had our plans ruined. £30 spent on 2 Ubers, 2 glasses of white wine and an incredibly disappointing evening 😕
