Ate here this evening to make use of a 50% voucher, ordered two mains which we noticed came with a lot of chips. When we had the receipt, it had extra chips on both for us which was not what we ordered. We only noticed this after leaving. Very very cheeky of them to add this without letting us know. Update: I can see that Harvester have responded, we were never offered to double up our fries, so there was no misunderstanding there - and furthermore, it is disappointing Harvester are trying to blame ourselves as the customer despite them being in the wrong.
My tea was cold, my food was luke warm, why are the breaded mushrooms only sliced mushrooms!! the dip with chives was as thin as milk!! The bread rolls are …DRY The salad bar was very poor with very basic variety’s (it used to be second to none)The fish was spoilt because of the soggy/raw cooked batter!! Chips were not at all nice!! The lemon was fresh (bonus).. we were offered a fresh pot of tea by our host which was appreciatedSome staff need to smarten themselves up and chef needs to wear whites not dirty whites. TOILETS NEED TO BE CLEAN AT ALL TIMES AND EXTRACTION NEEDS TO BE UPGRADED. I’m really sorry to give such a negative review but standards need to be kept high (like our host Sophie)
We visited earlier today with our family which included our 3 year old grandson, the salad bar was fab, the waiter attentive and the food arrived hot, on time and was very good value for money
Was over charged for my meals and the food was not up to standard. Arrived an hour after ordering when other people received their food a lot sooner and sat down after us. Could it be because I am a person of colour? Just saying..
Jamie was absolutely fantasticKept an eye on when glass was almost empty and topped me straight back up.Every time we go there Jamie makes our experience one to remember
This was a great experience, food was very good and service excellent at a reasonable cost. Ample parking (don't forget to put your reg in for free parking). Also liked not being drowned out with canned music.Would certainly visit again
I had especially asked for a table that could hold 20 , possibly two tables together as this was a special family meal, in the end we all had seperate tables, making it very difficult to talk to all, - I also emailed the meals everyone was having, including names to make it easier for the staff,There was a mix up with two meals, which should not have happened, - also there were at least two other parties that had booked,- the waiter was very stressed and overwhelmed, which was not nice to see, we did give him a nice tip at the end,- but seeing as though my booking was booked at least 3 weeks in advance, it would have been better to have at least one other member of staff on duty, to help cope with the amount of meals, as most of us had starters, main meal and desserts, plus drinks,This was the third year running we booked tables at the Arden Oak harvester, for our family get-together, next year we are going to look for somewhere else, - no complaints about the food it was delicious, but we were let down with the seating arrangements, we had quite a wait for the main meals also, I would advise a large gathering to look elsewhere, for that reason.
Came to harvester for a Christmas due for marie curie great service and good atmosphere the manager is amazing on how he does his job and the staff are wonderful 😀
Amazing family night at the harvester. Server Grace was do friendly, funny and made our night even more special. Chef Arek made delicious food. The pork belly and sausage dish was beautifully cooked and presented. The mixed grill was also delicious and we took home what we couldn't finish. Love the salad station, great selection. Will be back soon
Had a lovely breakfast with Santa today 1.12.2024 - Izzy was absolutely fabulous and took care of us (14 altogether) very professionally and without any fuss plus the food was well presented and delicious! Thank you and well done all
We visit The Arden Oak once a fortnight and have always been happy with the food/service/seating /cleanliness….Last night however we took our friends who had never visited a Harvester ….We gave our order and the drinks came promptlyThen the food order arrived… 2x fish & chips1x chicken skewers ( except it was hallumi ) promptly taken away and changed …1x hallumi with the wrong sauce …. Took a long long time to be changed …. Our food was cold as we very slowly held out for our fourth guest to get the meal we ordered ….I don’t think they will ever return… it was a disaster….So much for it being our treat :(
Across the road from Harvester is La Nonna italian restaurant where the food is sublime , a steak in Harvester costs £23 in La Nonna £27. The food in Harvester is over priced low quality fair, me and my wife had a burger , hers regular mine supposed to be southern fried chicken , honestly a horrible meal , sub standard deep fried crap. The table next to us had a steak and complained .When the waitress left after the complaint the lady at the table commented to her husband that her steak was the worst she ever had , I believe her!To Harvester , if you are going to command restaurant prices then please deliver quality food to match your price point .Wont be going again, not a chance , ill cross the road and pay the extra for an enjoyable experience . Ps , Im a plumber and no way affiliated with La Nonna, just referencing as a comparison as fed up of large companies/food chains cashing in on sub standard fair at the publics expense when we can have an enjoyable experience elsewhere for the same cost .
Got lost on the way and then got there late, didnt expect to get served but Grace was lovely and went out of her way to help us and really saved the night. A +++++
As neurodivergent I did have to ask them to pick one audio in the restaurant because the kitchen and the restaurant records were conflicting and one was stuck on a loop. The staff were brilliant at resolving this the toilets need work as I struggled with the locks on the doors and disabled toilets were locked, so I had to request the radar key. Staff were attentive to the dog and brought a bowl of water for him. Service was brilliant only negative was the wait for the bill.
Always brilliant food here, very accommodating and Izzy and Soph are fantastic. They went above and beyond for us tonight! Thank you again and compliments to the chef/s as always!
Love the place everytime I go. Staff are wonderful especially Grace. She's wonderful, always has a smile and perfect service skills. Food top level everytime
Amazing food, amazing staff and an amazing atmosphere. All the staff were really friendly especially Grace, she was always at hand for assistance and really gave the place a friendly element. Couldn’t of asked for a better experience.
Great staff especially grace, made us feel comfortable and had a lovely attitude. Service was impeccable and prompt would definitely recommend and will be returning
Looking wait for mains to come out. When they did they were only warm. Staff were just standing around chatting, next table to us had to tryand get their attention to take away plates and order desert. We'd waited too long to order desert so left after flashing down Staff to pay. Dissapointing
Excellent place to have a nice meal, friendly and polite staff, Anastasia was particularly attentive and made sure everything was alright with our meal.
Don’t bother the service is rubbish visit regular but Sunday was not up to standard slow service cold lunches waitress just vanished no table service had to struggle to pay
The food was superb, chicken just fell off the bone, great value at £8 per meal, our sever was Emily who was first rate, she was efficient, cheerful and answered any questions we had with excellent product knowledge. Overall a very pleasant experience.
From being welcomed on our arrival & shown to our table we enjoyed lunch served by Kerry. So nice to interact with someone who has a sense of humour, is very polite & pleasant & makes sure you have all you need. Compliments to Chefs Arek & Lucas for presenting a lovely meal. Well done all.
There was around 20 of us September 1st. Everyone was very welcoming, the service was absolutely fantastic, food beautiful. The young lady who served us was so accommodating. Would highly recommend.
Service was good although it was very busy. Food was undercooked but then tasteless, dry and cold . Tables around us were served and left before our food arrived then one meal was wrong disapointing after many visits.
We booked over the Telephone and when we arrived it took some time before anyone greeted and seated us. One member of staff looked right at us and walked past twice before she came to the front desk.We were seated and waited a long while before anyone came to take our drink order. We placed our food order and asked if we could order and pay separately. We were told it was too much bother to sort that now and we would have to wait til the end of our meal. The salad bar was poorly stocked and sparse.Kids meals arrived 10 minutes before the adult meals. The chips and corn on the cob were cold. My friends prawn dish tasted and smelt "off", and the food itself was poorly presented. After an hour no one came to check if our meal was OK, so we couldn't inform anyone. At no point were we asked if we wanted more drinks. We were left waiting so long that I had to seek out a member of staff to ask to speak to someone about this and get the bill; even though we'd been sat with our coats on waiting to leave. He was very apologetic and removed the "off" dish and drinks from our bill. However this ruined our meal out together. As a party well felt like we'd been shoved in a corner and forgotten about. Not the kind of experience we want to revisit.
We eat at Arden Oak quite often. We always enjoy our meals and my son has a special dessert that he loves. BUT there is a waitress that we have found to be exemplary in her customer service who stands out head and shoulders amongst the rest!! It is GRACE! GRACE! GRACE! GRACE! GRACE! When she isnt there we notice the difference. She always smiles, engages in conversation with the customers and is not offended if something needs perfecting. She takes an interest and actually cares about the service being provided. This is what customer service at the highest standard is supposed to look like. Thank you for looking after our table. Keep up the good work. You are appreciated.
Great service today, Sam looked after our table of 12 with attention to detail and really warm and friendly. Made sure all our dietary requirements were handled safely too, as one of our guests is coeliac.
Have been coming to this Harvester for ages and each time I have been 100% but , I must give out the BIG SHOUT OUT TO: Laura who always has a sunny disposition and the professionalism is never forgotten. Lucas & Arek, well done gents for treating the ingredients with passion as the dishes coming out of the kitchen is TOP!!I look forward to my next visit.Mario
Great Classic Breakfast ,Courtney was delightful .I would only order fried eggs in future Liz and Hayden not Scrambled . Scrambled doesn't stay warm when your adding other items to the plate. I've had fried before much better. Lovely breakfast all the same. Thank you
There was a 40%offer on so they were very busy but the food was not nice at all. Salad was dry and old salad tipped out on top of the new salad. The rope lights over the salad bar is full of heavy dust and cobwebs, just a little breeze and the salad bar is covered.Staff were lovely and the atmosphere in the place was nice too. Just the food quality let it down.
All 7 of us enjoyed our meal we had to wait only a little longer than normal for our food but this was to be expected as 40, yes 40 Chinese people had just sat down to eat before us but as I said our meal was worth the wait.
Had a pleasant meal at Harvester ..My Sever was Grace very pleasent and service was outstanding...made our visit Memorable.... And the chef today was Lucas Very good quality of food.... Will definitely come back to this branch of harvesters
Came for lunch to catch up with family and was blown away with the standard of the food, all 6 of us ordered from the lunchtime menu and the amount of food we recieved was amazing for the price. Our chef was Liz so a huge well done to her for the quality we recieved. Our server was Grace and she was great from start to finish couldn't fault her at all, was engaging, helpful and funny.Well done Grace you are a credit to the Arden Oak.Will definitely be back in the future.
Thank you so much Hayden for a delicious meal, it was faultless and thank you also to our lovely server, Grace, who looked after us both superbly!! We will definitely be back. Xx
Great steak cooked actually medium rear and a brilliant pair of lovely ladies behind the bar one called Jamie and another with blonde hair and blue streaks
Grace Arek our waitress was great, very friendly attentive and happy. We came to visit our family from America and we loved our dining w patience due to Grace. We have now named her Amazing Grace,, thanks Grace for a wonderful dining experience.
Surprisingly busy for a Wednesday night. A few large parties celebrating; a great place for groups and families. Reservations recommended for busy times. The staff is delightful and the food is great.
I explained to the girl behind bar I was only having one bowl of salad as not hungry I was prepared to pay a couple of pound for it and was told you have to have a main meal to get it free, I again explained I only have one bowl on the occasions I go there. Not very helpful at all was the girl behind bar, I paid £7 for salad which was basic nothing special . No boiled eggs what happened to them I wonder so again basic. Had my friend not already ordered and paid and was drinking her drink I would have gone elsewhere, I have been to numerous pubs in and around Solihull and Sheldon over the years have to say personally in my opinion not a pub I would recommend ever to anyone.
Quick lunch before driving to the Airport last Sunday. Food was delicious. Salad refills. Small bowls. Other than that there's is a crowd watching football outdoors
Great food and atmosphere 👌. Courtney and Grace were wonderful server's. The food arrived piping hot thanks to Hayden and Craig. Always worth a visit to The Arden Oak
This Harvester is greatly improved from where it was over 6 years ago, when we last ate here. The bar however is a great place to be in the evening with lots of sporting events and singers etc, much better than it was before. On arrival, we were greeted with a smile and a happy waitress, the restaurant was also very clean. The service was very good from Courtney, who was working hard between quite a few tables but was always there to acknowledge us and was very attentive and friendly. The main course was excellent, we all had the Original Combo, the food was piping hot and the pulled pork fries were also spot on.A good choice of beers and soft drinks were available. The only reason the food was not 5 stars was the salad selection, when we went up, it did look a little old, the lettuce wasn't crispy green looking, but quite brown and the pasta was empty as was the coleslaw and the onion was also not as fresh looking as I would have liked, but on the whole a good visit and will return to eat here as clearly much work has been done from the last time we came.
1st time here excellent service from grace & lucas from start to finish, food was amazing we had mixed grill & little boy had child’s meal & really enjoyed the build your own sundee, reasonably priced would highly recommend
Great service this afternoon, my friend and I had been on a long hike and we were hungry and exhausted. The lovely girl ( sorry didn’t get her name) seated us quickly and our waitress Grace came over and said “I hear you’re hungry “ she was quick and attentive, our food was lovely, hot and fresh and she even made me a mini ice cream when I said I couldn’t manage a full one.
Food was lovely, only two chicken goujons on the kids menu though, could have done with one or two more. But the service given by Grace was brilliant, very lovely woman!
Had dinner out with the family. Grace was our server and took my daughter as she was, my daughter is Autistic, with ADHD and she’s epileptic and can be a bit much for some people. But Grace was amazing with her.
I would like to make a complaint about a waitress called jade who was verry rude towards my 7 year oldMy 7 year old was pushing buttons on the fruit machine to see the lights and she came over to her and told her that she isn’t allowed to play on the machine. When she didn’t listen to her and carried on pushing the buttons she proceeded to tell her quite aggressively um I just told you you’re not aloud to play that.I just wanted to let her know that there was no need for that amount of attitude towards her. Other that that the food was amazing.
Good food. Not clean toilets with terrible smell. Poor service. We felt like waitress don’t care to serve people. After waiting 10 minutes for a bill we had to go to the bar to pay for it even tho there was no rush in the restaurant and waitress was standing and talking.
We waited over an hour and a quarter to receive our lunch entrees after ordering, and only because we pointed this out. My balance bowl was scanty, and the chicken was dried out. The washroom was filthy, and the entire place looked like it needed hosing down. No. We would most emphatically NOT recommend this restaurant. We were appalled, frankly.
Leighan who served us was very polite and friendly throughout our visit, and checked in with us to make sure everything was ok for us. Food was a delight and out in good time my chicken was beautiful not dry at all and my friends steak was cooked to perfection by Ashley who was the chef that day.
The service was very good. The food was very nice also. As for the atmosphere, it was midweek, so not much happening. I would use the restaurant again.
The food was nice and hot , good atmosphere but all the ladies toilet were blocked and filthy, not great and spolt what would have been a great night out
Went here on Sunday evening for a late dinner. We were kindly seated and served by a waitress named Jade, she was very polite and friendly! a great addition to the Harvester team. The atmosphere was calm with a nice warm feel and we didn’t have to wait long for drinks to arrive once seated. The menu offers a wide choice with reasonable prices, I went for the mixed combo as pictured below. The food was well prepared and looked and tasted great (pork belly and brisket were amazing). I was unable to finish and Jade kindly gave us containers to take away the remaining food. The salad bar was also well stocked and always a great side addition. I couldn’t fault anything during my time here and the service was consistently good. I would happily return to try more from the menu.
Was served by the amazing Izzy who came quickly to check on us throughout the meal. She always had a smile and made us feel welcome.. food also great hot and amazing cook by Anek and Hayden
Went for large family meal for moms 90th birthday food all came togeather very nice it was to lovely waitress called Sam couldn't do enough for us sorted out all our individual bills also another lady but didn't get her name thank you carolx
Amazing experience tonight, food was delicious, and services was perfect!Thank you to Sam, who served me and my partner! Super friendly and bubbly! Keep up the good work! 😁
Service was timely and the staff were friendly and professional. Drinks were served almost immediately upon aŕrival. Request for changes to particular food swap were met with 'no problem'. Food presentation was good and the meal was hot which I like. We were asked by the server if everything was OK with the meal, which it was. We decided not to partake dessert and requested the bill. This was brought to the table very quickly and after a good catch up with an old friend we departed the restaurant. The meal didn't feel rushed, we had time to chat and relax and the restaurant was lovely and cosy on a cold blustery very wet day. The only negative was that the menus were a bit sticky and felt like they could have done with a good clean.
I came in to get a little breakfast and to get some work done, my server Mia was very helpful in finding me a quiet location. Liz the chef made my food and it was divine.
Went for food and drinks with family was served by Courtney smith! She’s absolutely brilliant, so polite and fast service, really bubbly character made a special evening more special, super happy with the service!
Even though our staff member was extremely busy he was very attentive and asked if we were enjoying our meal and when we asked for anything he got it straight away. I can’t remember his name but he was a credit to the harvester well done young man
We had gammon ( a bit tough), egg and chips. Plus chicken bacon waffle and chips. The food was lovely apart from the fact that the bacon had been burnt to a cinder. The salad bar was good. The only real criticism was the speed of service. We went around 3pm. Not many people in the restaurant and the service was ridiculously slow. We would probably go again because we liked the choice of food. Not everything on the menu was with chips, and that rather appealed.
When we arrived we had a loing wait to be seated and the staff seemed to have no sense of urgency. However once we sat down and ordered the food, it was fabulous.
I needed a venue for a wake and this place was a very convenient location, given some people were travelling from out of town. I didn't expect such wonderful service, everything was perfect and they even assisted me in getting a substantial discount off the food. Scott the manager - big thanks!
Came for a meal here today. Was served by Samantha and would like to say she’s a great member of staff. So friendly and welcoming.Food was amazing so well cooked. Salad bar was well stocked and fresh. We finished our drinks in the bar area which was where the pleasant experience ended unfortunately. Tables were dirty. It wasn’t even busy. Lots of empty dirty tables. Eventually glasses were cleared away but not cleaned. Left with food on sadly. People were in and out of the fire exit all the time making it freezing. Then a dog arrived, I wasn’t aware it was a dog friendly pub. I was shocked to be honest. I wouldn’t normally go somewhere that allowed dogs in.Shame to spoil the experience.
Brilliant service, spoke to the manager who was really friendly. He had us in stitches at one point. Absolutely brilliant place. Was served by a Australian lad I think his name is Jack. Again really friendly and knowledgeable
Had a lovely evening with friends and although really busy the food was delicious. Big shout out to our waitress Courtney who was rushed off her feet but still made time to help us with different vouchers, menus and separate payments. Nothing was too much for her even though her shift should have finished.
Went for a large family gathering post Christmas, and overall had a good experience. The food was cooked well and tasty, but nothing out of the ordinary. The young lady who served us was fantastic.I don't think putting a group of 24 into booth seating is the best idea, but we did get plenty of space.Toilets were pretty horrible and mostly flooded.
Amazing experience!! Very helpful & welcoming chefs, waiters & bar staff. Lovely atmosphere & decor. Had the ultimate combo & it did not disappoint! Refillable drinks & free salad + bread and delicious desserts as well as a bunch of different sauces. Ended up taking all leftovers home in takeaway boxes.
We enjoyed a fantastic breakfast this morning, couldn't fault it!The staff are very polite and professional especially Laura and Chelsea.Thank you and it's definitely 5 stars from Nigel and Claire 😊
Quite lively on the Wednesday evening I went in. No food after 9pm, so I ordered a Peroni for £5.05.I did manage to get food across the road at the Indian restaurant.
Good atmosphere and food was good. Ordered at the bar as there was a long wait for table service. Busy place which was good. Nice choice of drinks and menu offered gluten free options. Overall good meal and drinks. Staff were friendly. Plenty of parking too and a good size beer garden. Couple of TV's for watching sports too.
Good few years since visiting and met up with big group of friends. The only fault I can give was long wait for our big table which was booked ahead of time but long wait to be seated.Once seated the service was fast flowed really great. Bowls for salad bar and then followed by our mains which came out in great time. We had a varied amount of dishes but everyone agreed great portion size for the money and tasted so good. Combos and can change the meals to suit you or have something different.Front of house, bar staff and all colleagues was so fun and served a great atmosphere which was a busy evening. Cannot fault them. We had a great evening 😊
