Colbeh is a great restaurant for its food and we have been here multiple times with our friends and family for different events. However the service is quite bad for a restaurant like colbeh that serves amazing food. We were served by this staff member named Honey and she was quite rude and giving loads of attitude. We have also noticed it was not only towards customers but also towards other staff, this type of behaviour is very rare from colbeh’s staff and it was my first time facing this matter as we have been served in this restaurant multiple times. I think this person needs to be trained more to respect not only the customers but also its own staff.

One of my favourite Persian restaurants! The food is always lovely and this time we had Melika looking after us, who was so sweet and welcoming. She had a lovely smile, listened to what we wanted, was really quick and attentive, and gave us some great recommendations.
She genuinely cared about making sure we had a nice experience. Definitely made this visit extra special! ❤️

I had a horrible cobide for second time.so fat and burnt.they tried to cover the burnt parts with salad.

My wife and I celebrated my 66th birthday at Colbeh, an establishment with which I am very familiar, and of which I also know the owner.

The restaurant has undergone a comprehensive refurbishment to exemplary standards. The ambience is agreeable and exceptionally welcoming. The cuisine offered is, to the best of my knowledge, authentic Persian.

What distinguishes this dining venue is the excellence of service at the tables. We had the privilege of being served by distinguished members of the team, Sethara and Mina. Both ladies displayed charm, politeness, and eloquence. I observed that their body language was consistent with their verbal communication, a subtle sign of excellent customer service.

I recommend Colbeh to anyone who wants to enjoy a holistic experience of Persian cuisine in the heart of Birmingham on Hagley Road.

Great food. Dessert came with sprinkles of nuts. They don't tell you this so be aware if you have a nut allergy. They didn't ask if I had a nut allergy and expected me to tell them I did. I guess next time I order water I'll tell them I've got a nut allergy

First time trying Persian food, and I was genuinely impressed!

The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful inside - such a lovely atmosphere and definitely a cute spot for a date. We visited around 3pm on a Saturday and it was surprisingly quiet and peaceful, which we actually really enjoyed.

As soon as we arrived, a member of staff came over and showed us to our table. Everyone was really friendly and welcoming, and the service was super quick. Our food came out within about 5 minutes!

The food itself was amazing and full of flavour. We ordered two main meals, two mocktails, two desserts and a Persian tea, which came to around £81 altogether. I do think the prices are slightly on the expensive side, but the portions and quality of the food were really good, so we still left very happy.

Such a lovely first experience with Persian food — beautiful interior, peaceful atmosphere, friendly service and, most importantly, delicious food.

For parking, we managed to find free parking on a nearby side road and it was only about a 3-minute walk to the restaurant, so it was really convenient.

One of Birmingham's tastiest restaurants, and their food is plentiful.
I tried most of the menu.
I recommend the liver and fattoush salad. They also have delicious Levantine appetizers.

I love this restaurant. The food tastes great and the decor and ambiance is amazing.

However the portion sizes have definitely gone down and the prices remain the same, it’s a little shady.

If you order chips vs the rice the chips come in a tiny bowl. They are “thick cut” meaning there is less in the bowl. They served the geymeh in a thin flat plate, previously it was in a bowl. See the photo…

I had a very good experience at Colbeh Restaurant. The food was delicious, and the staff were very professional, polite, and welcoming. We really enjoyed our evening and had a lovely time.

Although there was a period when the experience was not quite as good as we had expected, I’m very pleased to see that the quality and service have improved significantly. Based on my recent visit, I would definitely recommend Colbeh and look forward to visiting again.

We had a wonderful dining experience. The food was absolutely delicious, with every dish beautifully prepared and full of flavour. A special thank you to our waitress, Suzanne, who was so lovely, friendly, and attentive throughout the evening. Her warm service made our visit even more enjoyable. First visit at Colbeh Persian Kitchen & Bar and honestly it was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Birmingham for Persian cuisine. First impression, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming and beautifully presented with a modern yet authentic Persian feel.

The food was outstanding from start to finish. Everything tasted fresh, well seasoned and cooked perfectly. The grilled meats were tender, juicy and full of flavour, and the rice was light, fragrant and complemented the dishes perfectly. You can genuinely tell care goes into both the presentation and quality of the food. The portion sizes were generous and well worth the price.

The staff were also excellent throughout the evening attentive, polite and always making sure we were comfortable without being intrusive. Service was smooth even while the restaurant was busy, which really stood out.

The restaurant itself was clean, stylish and had a great atmosphere for both family meals and evenings out with friends. Parking nearby was convenient and the overall experience felt premium without being overpriced.

I would highly recommend Colbeh to anyone looking for authentic Persian food in Birmingham. Definitely a place I’ll be returning to again soon.

We’ve visited before the refurbishment and it was good — but now it’s on a completely different level. The transformation is incredible. The atmosphere is elegant and sophisticated, beautifully blended with authentic Persian charm that immediately makes you feel special.

From the moment you walk in, the team makes you feel genuinely welcome. The staff are attentive, professional, and always smiling. The owner is present, personally ensuring everything runs perfectly — and you can truly feel that attention to detail in every aspect of the experience.

The food is simply outstanding — rich, authentic Persian flavours prepared to perfection. Every dish is beautifully presented with perfectly balanced portion sizes. The koobideh was thin, juicy, and wonderfully aromatic, and the shishlik was so tender it literally melted in the mouth. Absolutely exceptional.

They also offer a great selection of drinks and a fantastic private function room that comfortably hosts around 30 guests — ideal for special occasions and celebrations.

This has without a doubt become our new go-to destination for Persian cuisine. If you’re looking for authentic flavours, a classy atmosphere, and top-tier service, this is the place to be.

Pretty good place ! The service could have been a bit better. The waiter was new to the job and forgot to place my order after taking it. So I had to wait a bit longer to get the food. I was duly compensated for the time with a nice starter. The parking needs to be validated upon entry and there is a good number of spots available even on a busy day.

Taste of food was good. Nothing exceptional but it is one of the places that staus in the memory for long

This Persian restaurant serves delicious, authentic dishes we ordered some juicy kebabs, fragrant stews, and saffron rice. The atmosphere is warm, the interiors are really nice, and I really enjoyed both the vibe and the food.
