We recently hosted a gathering of around 50 people at this restaurant, and the experience was outstanding. The staff were professional, attentive, and well-organised, ensuring everything ran smoothly from start to finish.

The food was delicious, fresh, and served promptly despite the size of our group. The mocktails and soft drinks were particularly impressive, offering a great variety of refreshing flavours that were enjoyed by everyone. Service was quick, and the staff consistently checked to make sure guests were comfortable and satisfied.

The welcoming atmosphere, excellent food, and outstanding customer service made the event truly memorable. I would highly recommend this restaurant for family gatherings, celebrations, and large group bookings.

I had a really disappointing experience at a restaurant recently. We waited almost 50 minutes for our food even though it wasn't very busy. When the meals finally arrived, they were cold and didn't taste fresh. My burger was dry, the fries were soggy, and my friend's grilled chicken was tough, dry, and lacked flavour. The staff apologised for the delay, but the quality of the food made the long wait even more frustrating. I even saw staff members ignoring our stares and using their phones!!!! It was a terrible experience and id never come back.

We had a fantastic time. Our waiter was a charming young man, down to earth , very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Infact all the employees were charming and hepful. The food was hot and delicious. We asked for a desserts that wasn't on the menu, no problem. We were introduced to a drink which we had never come across before, it was amazing. We were offered asian tea to takeaway if we wished, without charge. An ober was organised by the establishment and they waited with us until it arrived. We were treated more like family than customers. I thoroughly recommend Alam and definitely go back to this restaurant if I'm ever in the area.

I travelled all the way from Stoke and had a table booked for 8:00pm at Alam Restaurant on Coventry Road. We arrived at 7:55pm and were told we were too early, which was fair enough. However, despite having a reservation, we were then left waiting until around 8:20pm.

What made it even more frustrating was that there were several empty tables visible, but the staff didn’t seem interested in helping. We asked multiple times how much longer it would be, and each time we were told, “just a few minutes, we’ll call you,” yet nothing happened. In the end, we waited over 25 minutes despite booking in advance.

It was only when we were about to leave that a staff member with a ponytail suddenly came over and said they had found us a table. It’s hard to understand how a table only became available the moment we decided to walk out.

The service was extremely poor, communication was terrible, and there was no respect for customers’ time. Travelling that distance and being treated like this was incredibly disappointing. Definitely not the experience we expected, and unfortunately we won’t be returning. Never again – a complete waste of time.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Dining Experience at Alam Restaurant

We had a fantastic experience at Alam Restaurant on Coventry Road. The food was outstanding, with every dish full of flavour and beautifully presented. The quality of the ingredients and attention to detail really stood out.

What made the visit even better was the excellent customer service. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and attentive throughout the meal, making us feel well looked after from start to finish.

Would rate this place no stars if I could. Firstly we wanted to be seated in the outside area/mini huts however they did not let us sit there. There was plenty of space as there was barely anyone there. A couple minutes later two girls had walked in and they was allowed to go sit in the outside area, then two more girls had walked in and the same thing had occurred. I also noticed the waiter who was escorting these girls to the outside area was also being very friendly towards women but if it’s a couple they get treated differently. Secondly, the food is disgusting the only thing that was edible on the platter was the chicken sheesh kebab, the rest was flavourless and the chicken bites were undercooked. And one of the sheesh kebabs had hair on them, which leads me to my next point the place is very unsanitary and I felt uncomfortable sitting there as the tables weren’t cleaned well and the chairs were dirty.

We were absolutely thrilled! The food was delicious. Everything was fresh and tasty. The service was excellent: our waiter was extremely friendly, attentive, and very professional.

We especially appreciated the pleasant atmosphere. The tables are arranged in such a way that you have plenty of privacy and can enjoy your meal in peace. The restaurant itself is also modern and stylishly furnished.

We will definitely be back and highly recommend Alam Restaurant to everyone!

Very disappointing experience. It was my first visit and definitely my last.

I came with my buddies and we ordered a variety of dishes, including different curries, rice, and a platter. The only thing that was somewhat decent was the starter. Apart from that, the food had almost no taste at all. It honestly felt like it had just been reheated in a microwave rather than freshly prepared.

I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant, especially considering the prices. The food is expensive, and there are many much better restaurants in Birmingham that offer far better quality and flavour.

The only positive I can mention is the courtyard, which is nice if you’re just looking to take pictures or make videos. Otherwise, I don’t think it’s worth visiting for the food.

I visited the restaurant with my husband because we wanted to enjoy a meal in the courtyard. It appeared to be open, but when we arrived, a staff member told us that the outdoor seating doesn't open until 7:30 pm.

This was very disappointing, especially as we had travelled all the way from Bradford hoping to enjoy the summer weather. It ended up being a wasted journey, and we left feeling let down. Clearer information about the courtyard opening times would have saved us the trip and avoided the disappointment.

First time time and I was pleasantly surprised. There is customer parking around the back of the restaurant. It was quiet on our visit on Thursday evening. We ordered a sharing platter for two which was fresh, varied, plentiful and tasty, however the lamb chops could have benefited from more flavour. We also had one portion of skin-on chips which looked like it would be enough for one but it transpired it really was enough for two. Water is chargeable which was slightly disappointing but not a deal breaker and it was a glass bottle containing 75cl. The main chosen was medium spicy lamb curry with two naans presented in four halves. Overall, I was pleased with my visit and the staff, were pleasant but not as attentive enough. This could be attributed to the fact they they were clearung up for the end. I would recommend this restaurants for authentic Pakistani cuisine.

Hands down some of the best mocktails I’ve tried, the Piña Colada was unreal.

There’s genuinely something for everyone here, from the seating to the menu and flavours. The dynamite prawns are a MUST order, and the tandoori wings were excellent, super crispy with really well-balanced flavour.

Service was spot on, and the overall experience made it somewhere I’d happily come back to.

It’s perfect for anything, family outings, date nights, or even just a chill evening. The venue is huge with garden seating, a shisha lounge, and dedicated family dining areas.

The menu leans towards South Asian cuisine but also has options like pasta and burgers if you want something more familiar.

Absolutely outstanding experience from start to finish! The food was incredible, beautifully presented, full of flavour, and clearly made with care. Every dish we ordered exceeded expectations.

What truly made the evening special, though, was the service. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without being overbearing. Thank you to Muhammf Hashim! They all went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, offered great recommendations, and made us feel valued throughout the entire meal. Excellent choice for Ramadhan with a beautiful prayer space, complimentary zamzam, fruit and karak chai.

My friend and I visited this restaurant and were warmly greeted by a staff member who showed us to our seat and handed us a menu. We were already off to a good start.

We had to wait a bit longer than usual for someone to take our order but the food was top tier and reasonably priced. We ordered a chicken biryani, chicken chow mein and keema nachos. Each dish was beautifully presented and served in generous portions. 🤤

The back garden was a sight to behold, along with the interior decor.

This venue is highly recommended. It’s perfectly equipped for any occasion, from family dinners and friends’ nights out to romantic garden settings.

Visited today. The Supervisor served us. Charming, attentive and knowledgeable enough to describe each of the dishes in order for us to make an informed choice. Ordered the Achar Ghost and Chicken Achari. Both dishes were really tasty, full of flavour. The meat was tender, even though both were Achari dishes there was a distinct difference between the dishes. Ordered the plain naan with butter, again, it was cooked just right, really fluffy and soft, wonderful texture and taste. The fragrance of the naan was exquisite.

I enjoyed my visit to this restaurant. Although they don’t have an online booking system, I was able to make a reservation over the phone. I highly recommend booking ahead if you prefer to sit outside, as that area is a highlight of the restaurant. But if you’re not picky you could just walk in. The courtyard seating is beautiful and well heated, perfect for colder weather.

The food was tasty with good portion sizes, though the Pina Coladas weren’t our favourite.

The staff were helpful in guiding us through the menu. Would recommend!

Gorgeous atmosphere both indoors and throughout the courtyard with great food and top tier service. Menu offers a variety of food including Vegetarian and Gluten Free options; perfect for family members who are coeliac and vegetarian. Effective ordering method on a tablet, and staff who never miss! Muhammad Hashim’s attention to detail was great. He was extremely helpful throughout our meal ensuring we were happy with our food and drinks. Furthermore, he went above and beyond in taking pictures for our family and informing us of other areas to take more. Alam’s a firm favourite delivering consistency across all aspects of serving delicious meals suitable for all. They also offer parking behind the restaurant for which the charge can be redeemed at payment.

Although we went late to the restaurant, the staff still served us the best food, they were kind, polite & welcoming, waiter named Fahad was very receptive.
Infact all of the staff have always been very welcoming & kind whenever we visited this restaurant.
Overall very good management, loved the environment, decorations & aura.

Excellent service and staff. Food was just the icing on top to a wonderful evening. Very generous portions with clean and modern décor. Food was pleasantly presented with copious amounts of salad. There was a slight delay with us getting additional plates and sauces but understandable as they were busy.
Our waiter, Abu Baker, was very attentive and was always around when we needed him, but left us to enjoy our food so that was nice.
Very competitive prices and complimentary water was also given. There is a great garden for outdoor seating but only really caters for groups of 4 or less. But the downstairs and upstairs seating can accommodate larger groups.
Great experience all round. Will be visiting again and recommended to all. Especially the lamb chops, king prawns and salmon.

We’ve been regulars at Alam Restaurant ever since our first visit and for good reason! The food is always delicious and full of flavour. The staff are warm, welcoming, and make the whole ordering process smooth and easy.

A special shoutout to Mohammad Hashim for going the extra mile yesterday and making my mum’s birthday feel truly special we really appreciated it!

There’s convenient parking just around the corner, the seating caters to all group sizes, and the atmosphere is lovely. The owners are incredibly hospitable, which makes every visit feel like a warm welcome back.

I wouldn’t even give this place one star. The staff are extremely rude. We travelled from London to make a reservation for 15 people for the following day. The member of staff who dealt with us was extremely rude. He literally had no manners and really needs to learn how to speak to others, we did not expect a lot from him and simply just wanted some information about the food and wanted to see the space. He kept repeating that we were wasting his time( this was 2 mins into the conversation). Please hire staff who can actually communicate with others in a positivity manner and not shout at the customers like kids.

Absolutely appalling service. I came in to make a reservation for the following day and was met with immediate rudeness from a member of staff. From the very beginning, it felt like we were an inconvenience rather than potential customers. We politely asked to view the garden area, and he refused multiple times until the floor manager instructed him to show us.

Once we finally got to see the space and began discussing our options (literally less than a minute in), he interrupted us, said “don’t waste my time,” and walked off. Completely unprofessional. A few minutes later, he returned only to tell us to "think outside" and then kicked us out of the restaurant — while it was raining and nearly 10:40 PM — claiming they were closed, even though other customers were still clearly inside eating.

This is by far one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. If this is how they treat people trying to book a table, I can only imagine what the actual dining experience is like. Needless to say, we’ll never be returning — and I strongly advise others to avoid this place entirely.

Amazing restaurant, food was absolutely delicious one of my favourite places to come. My server, Muhammad Hashim, was so kind as he came to check if everything was ok. He introduced me and my friend to the garden area, which we had never been to and was absolutely blown away when we saw our seating area. When we sat down he offered to take pictures of me and my friend and the pictures came out perfect. Highly recommend to come perfect for dates, nights out with friends or family, catching up with mates, etc.

I had an amazing experience at Alum Restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious every dish was fresh, well-seasoned, and beautifully presented.

What made the evening even more memorable was the exceptional service from Hashim, he was incredibly friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. Hashim made sure we were comfortable the entire time and offered great recommendations that turned out to be spot on. His warm and professional attitude really stood out.

Highly recommend Alum Restaurant for both the food and the outstanding service.

Really great place to eat
Food was very nice
Starters were banging
Try the nachos guys they were lovely.
Burgers were very nice.
I ordered a rice with chicken manchori but i didnt like it due to my taste buds.
The guy serving me gave us free deserts and went the extra mile. Really greatful for the way we was treated.
Defo come back

Came here in January.
Amazing, delicious food. The dynamite prawn starters and ribs were so delicious. Great range of deserts as well.
Service was on point, everything was great about our visit. Will definitely be coming again.
